While this is technically supposed to be a "bio" about us, I can only reflect, and say...it's not about us...it's all about Jesus.
Some 30 years ago, He saw fit to draw us to Him, to forgive us for having ignored Him for so many years, to grant to us His matchless gift of salvation and then to call us into His service.
During the past 30 years, He has continually been with us, and has led us on a journey beyond description. From Texas to New York, to Florida, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico back to Kentucky then home to Texas again. Along the way we have been blessed to have ministered in song and word in many different places, from Apache Indian reservations to street missions, from large churches of many different denominations to small house meetings, from vacant lots with no tent to vacant parking lots with big tents, from school auditoriums to old folks homes and....hold on, folks...even a casino, where we presented a Christmas Gospel concert to over a 1,000 people.
Along the way, the message that Jesus has given us to communicate is always the same. HE is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, and NO ONE comes to the Father but through Him. He alone is righteous and just....and He is just to forgive us ALL our sins if we confess them. He alone is worthy of praise, and praise Him we do!
In the past 15 years, there has been an increasing sense of urgency in what we do and communicate. There isn't a whole lot of time left before He comes to collect His bride, and He certainly doesn't want any more foolish virgins "without oil" than there has to be, so the message has become one of exhortation to straighten up and live right, to stand up and be counted as one of His, to become a model of His love, and above all...to tell EVERYONE about Him.
"We've a message to tell to the nations...". If you want to hear it, call us. If you want to be entertained, call someone else.
Now to secondary things. Bev & I have been married for 40 years, and have three wonderful children, and 9 grandchildren. In our youth we realized we both had a passion for music and joined forces. Both having come from professional groups, Bev in Folk and I, Jazz, we soon developed our own unique sound and style which we have now labeled "Christian Swing. Some of our most interesting experiences came from our studio backup work in the 60's and 70's. We were the back up voices for some of the best through Ray Dogget's Recording Studio, Jimmy Duncan's Soundville Recording Studio, and Doyle Jones Recording Studio; all in Houston. We performed the backup voicing on several recordings (including some #1 country hits) for Mickey Gilley, Willie Nelson, Johnny Lee, Jerry Wallace, Fiddlin' Frenchie Burke, Freddie Fender and a host of other less well known artists.
Hank was licensed to the ministry at Mt. Houston Bapt. Church (Houston, SBC) in 1984. Hank & Bev are both certified MasterLife II leaders (SBC), and Hank was ordained in 1990 at the Cedar Hills Community Bible Church in Snowflake, Arizona. In 2002 we began publishing a Christian newspaper, "The Master's Table" which was distributed throughout central Texas until 2006. In 2006, we planted a Cowboy Church in Thrall, Texas, which meets from house to pasture (as needed). We also administer several websites.
We are currently setting up dates for 2008. If you would you like for The Beymers to sing at your church or event click here to get in touch.
We've just completed our second CD, titled "Old Fashioned River Meetin' ", and it contains some really good old songs done in a new way. Check it out here. Hope you enjoy the clips and want to hear more.
